A major fire broke out early this morning in the industrial zone in Novi Pazar. The blaze engulfed a warehouse containing fabric materials and is spreading toward the city heating plant, Sandžak danas reported.

According to the latest information from the scene and the most recent video footage, the fire spread to a new warehouse where upholstery fabrics were stored. These materials are extremely flammable, which caused the fire to flare up rapidly.

Two firefighting teams from Kragujevac arrived as reinforcements, along with another team from Kraljevo, Tanjug reports.

All available forces are being deployed to critical points in order to prevent the further spread of the fire toward infrastructure-critical facilities. There is no information about casualties, and the material damage is enormous.

The cause of the fire is not yet known.

At around 3:00 a.m., the fire engulfed several buildings on Dimitrija Tucovića Street, causing extensive material damage. Emergency medical teams are also on site, as several workers inhaled smoke, RTS reports.

Police are securing the area and regulating traffic.
