U.S. President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump arrived at Windsor Castle, thus beginning their second two-day state visit to the United Kingdom.

The Prince and Princess of Wales were the first members of the royal family to welcome the presidential couple at the start of their two-day state visit, CNN reports.

The royal couple met with the President and First Lady in the Windsor Castle Walled Garden, after the Trumps arrived by helicopter on the royal estate.

William and Kate accompanied them to a meeting with King Charles and Queen Camilla at Victoria House, a lesser-known royal residence within Windsor Park.

The arrival of the American couple was accompanied by music from the Household Cavalry orchestra, whose members wear ceremonial uniforms from the 17th century, made of pure gold thread.

Shortly after the welcome, they all headed to the carriages that would take them in a ceremonial procession through the Windsor royal estate.

King Charles and Donald Trump sat in the so-called Irish State Coach.

This coach is known for being used for years by Queen Elizabeth II on the occasion of the opening of the British Parliament. It was built in Ireland, is of closed construction with dark brown panels decorated with golden motifs, and its most recognizable detail is its lavish gilded roof.

The escort consisted of 80 soldiers from the Household Cavalry, arranged in four divisions, with two regimental flags.

During the procession, the national anthems of the United States and the United Kingdom were performed.

Behind them, in the Scottish State Coach, Queen Camilla and First Lady Melania Trump were riding. This coach dates back to around 1830.

In the semi-open Landau carriage were Prince William and Princess Catherine, as well as U.S. Ambassador Warren Stephens with his wife Harriet.

Two additional Ascot Landau carriages carried members of the American delegation, which included Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Finance Minister Scott Bessent, Trump’s envoy for foreign affairs Steve Witkoff, Chief of Staff Susie Wiles, and other White House staff members.

The UK Ministry of Defence described today’s ceremonial welcome as “unprecedented,” with the participation of around 1,300 members of the military and 120 horses.

The music was performed by the Royal Marines Band from Portsmouth and the Central Band of the Royal Air Force.
