The trial of Miljana and Vladimir Kecmanović, parents of the 14-year-old boy, K.K., who carried out the massacre at the “Vladislav Ribnikar” school, was held today at the Special Court in Belgrade. K.K. completed his testimony today, and lawyers for the victim’s families spoke about the proceedings after the trial.
The minor, K.K., was brought to the Special Court in Belgrade, accompanied by the police and in an ambulance, where he was questioned as a witness in the proceedings against his parents. At the previous hearing, he was questioned by the prosecution and lawyers, while at today’s hearing, it was expected that the victims’ parents would ask questions.
Ognjen Božović, a lawyer for the victims’ families, told the media that the next hearing would be held at the Palace of Justice.
“As you already know very well, I cannot disclose details in public or the content of the statement; the only thing I can tell you is that the next trial will be held at the Palace of Justice. So, we will continue where we left off, before this witness was questioned, who was questioned twice before. At the next trial, we will continue with the presentation of written evidence, and it is scheduled for November 1st,” Božović said.

Many questions answered
Marko Janković, a lawyer for the families of the surviving children, said that the questioning of the boy who committed the murder was completed today.
“Today, the questioning of the boy who committed the murder was completed; my impressions are that it was quite emotional, that we got answers to many questions. I think that a puzzle has been placed before us that should be put together with the help of the prosecution, the court, and health and social welfare institutions to find the answers to the main questions that plague Serbian society regarding May 3rd, and that is how and why this happened. I believe that what we have heard today will be an important step towards that. Also, I think the statement is very significant for the criminal proceedings themselves. Still, it also goes beyond that,” said lawyer Janković.
Proceedings are being conducted against the parents of the boy murderer before the Higher Court in Belgrade due to the massacre at the “Vladislav Ribnikar” Elementary School, which occurred on May 3rd of last year in Belgrade.
Nine students and a security guard were killed. Since the boy who committed the crime was not 14 years old at the time of the crime, he is not criminally responsible. He is being observed in a medical institution.
