Firefighters, rescuers, police, and local residents have been searching since 4 PM yesterday for two men, identified as neighbors K.S. (38) and A.S. (47), who went missing near Lake Barje close to Leskovac. From this morning, the Water Rescue Team of the Emergency Situations Sector, along with members of the Fire-Rescue Battalion from Leskovac, have joined the operation.
According to new information, the search is focused on the two men, both local fishermen, who disappeared in the village of Crcavac, where Lake Barje is located.
Although drowning was not initially suspected, authorities decided to involve the Water Rescue Team to fully cover the area and locate the missing men as quickly as possible.
As official updates from the field are awaited, uncertainty in the area is growing by the hour.
Stopped Answering Calls
Initial reports indicate that the two men were staying at their weekend house in Crcavac. Their families began to worry when calls to their mobile phones went unanswered from early morning.
After all attempts to contact them failed, the case was reported to the Leskovac Police Department, which immediately mobilized its teams. The report was filed by the brother of one of the missing fishermen.
Locals in Fear
A heavy silence has fallen over the village. Neighbors describe the missing men as individuals who know the area very well, which deepens the mystery surrounding their disappearance.
The search remains active, and everyone hopes the ordeal will end with a safe and positive outcome.
