The Prime Minister of the so-called Kosovo, Albin Kurti, said that over a billion euros would be allocated for the military in the next mandate and announced the development of “Made in Kosovo” military drones, reports Anadolu Agency.
Kurti, who was unanimously voted as the Self-Determination Movement‘s candidate for Prime Minister, said that during his next mandate, a munitions factory would be operational and Kosovo’s military industry would be developed.
“The strengthening of the military will be achieved through the acquisition of weapons, training and education within the country, in cooperation with Albania and in the most prominent military academies in partner countries,” emphasized Kurti, who added that a joint military unit would also be created with the Armed Forces of the Republic of Albania.
He pointed out that the goal is to deepen and expand bilateral and multilateral international cooperation with NATO member states.
He also emphasized that their goal is to have 1,000 women and girls in the military within the new mandate.
Kurti also spoke about Kosovo’s integration process into the European Union, stating that the goal is for Kosovo to successfully complete all chapters of the integration process towards EU membership by 2030.
