The Abbot of Visoki Dečani Monastery, Father Sava Janjić, received the Commander of the KFOR mission, Enrico Barduani, and his associates.

On that occasion, as stated by the Visoki Dečani Monastery, Father Janjić informed them about the problems faced by the Serbian Orthodox Church (SPC) in Kosovo and Metohija.

“After visiting the church, Father Sava informed the general about the concerns of the SPC regarding the latest problems faced by the church and its people in Kosovo and Metohija,” stated the Visoki Dečani Monastery on Instagram.

The visit of the KFOR commander to Visoki Dečani came on the same day that the Raška-Prizren Diocese publicly expressed concern about new “public and irresponsible statements by certain public figures in Kosovo Albanian society.”

The Raška-Prizren Diocese stated that it was very concerned about recent statements by Albanian officials in Pristina that Kosovo and Metohija should be ethnically cleansed of Serbs, that weapons are hidden in Serbian churches, and that the church is “the main organizer of violence against Albanians.”

“Such accusations do not contribute to calming the situation but encourage ethnic and religious intolerance in Kosovo and Metohija,” the statement said.
