Nikola Jović has earned his place in the Miami sun! He showed this in the Heat’s 119-98 victory over Portland. Our national team player scored 21 points (a season record), grabbed eight rebounds, and had five assists, while Tyler Herro was just more efficient with 32 points, five rebounds, and five assists.
Jović shot 8/12 from the field, including 4/7 from three-point range, made one free throw, and had the best +/- index of 20! After him was Highsmith with an index of 13, and Jović also had one steal, one block, and one turnover. Simons led Portland with 28 points, Sharpe added 22, and Israeli-Serbian basketball player Deni Avdija scored 15 points with 12 rebounds and five assists.

Miami was better from the start, creating a big 20-point lead by the end of the first half, and the big difference was maintained until the very end. Our national team player was part of this, often being in a “puzzle” for Erik Spoelstra with his role, minutes, chances, and transfers to the development team in the past.

This is Jović’s fifth consecutive game with a double-digit scoring performance, he recently scored 20 points against Golden State, and now he has become the youngest player in Heat history with a performance like the one against Portland.
Nikola Jovic has been fantastic as of late. Over his last 11 games he's shooting 41.5% from 3 on almost 5 3pa/g. The Heat are +52 in his minutes during those games.

He's not Jimmy Butler, but his shooting has helped create more space for the Heat offense.pic.twitter.com/RYUcdUGaN4
Jović has had five 20+ point games in his career, two of which he has achieved on the Heat’s current road trip.
Precise statisticians have extracted one more piece of data – over the last 11 games, he has a 41.5% three-point percentage, and Miami is +52 when he is on the court.
I’ve been on the Nikola Jovic train for awhile now, and it’s time for me to toot my horn

At 6’10”, Jovic has great feel and an incredibly well-rounded game, but he’s been tapping into his scoring & playmaking a lot more lately
He’s still only 21, toopic.twitter.com/H1xyKk8R3h
Jović also had injury problems at the beginning of the season, he was not the most prepared for the Olympic Games, but it’s nice to see that it’s all in the past – Nikola’s days are just beginning in the NBA.
