The Denver Nuggets secured a place in the Western Conference semifinals after convincingly defeating the Los Angeles Clippers (120:101) in the decisive seventh game of the first round of the playoffs in front of their home fans.
Immediately after the match, Jokić shared his impressions.
The Serbian star emphasized that defense was the key to success.
“I think the defense was unbelievable. The rebounding and the defense were unbelievable, we had a lot of chances to run… a lot of guys really stepped up and scored points,” said Jokić.
For a team to succeed in the playoffs, the contribution of all players is necessary, Nikola believes.
“In the playoffs, we know that everyone has to step up, offensively and defensively, in terms of energy. Everyone who plays has to contribute.”
Jokić also had words of praise for the opposing team.
“This is maybe the only game, maybe along with the third one when they beat us, that wasn’t interesting. We beat a great, talented team, who played well before the playoffs. They are talented, they have good players, and we are happy that we won,” said the Serbian basketball player.
