The Lakers defeated Denver after overtime in front of their fans, and the hero of the victory was Slovenian Luka Dončić, who with 0.5 seconds left scored from an impossible position for the win — 127:125.
Nikola Jokić finished the game with another triple-double performance, his 27th of the season! The Serbian star recorded 24 points, 16 rebounds, 14 assists and five steals, but that was not enough for the Nuggets’ victory.
The hero of the triumph Luka Dončić overshadowed the Sombor native, as he also had a triple-double performance in this game — 30 points, 11 rebounds and 13 assists.
The Serbian basketball player summed up his impressions after the game, and was first asked what he wanted in the crucial moments:
“Just to throw the perfect pass… We have a lot of players who are a threat,” said Nikola.
Spencer Jones failed to stop Dončić in the decisive attack.
“Spencer was able to play well, but he didn’t manage to direct him toward a double team… it’s a learning process… They are the best in the world.”
Jokić points out that Dončić and the other stars are very difficult to guard.
“You can somehow contain them, but offense is what decides. It’s hard to guard those guys, the best in the league,” emphasized the Serbian star.
