Denver Nuggets defeated Dallas with a score of 118:99 in an NBA league match. It was the second clash between the Nuggets and Mavericks in three days, and the second victory for the Colorado team.
The leader in the victory of Michael Malone’s team was the inspired Jamal Murray with 45 points (18/26 from the field) and six assists in 37 minutes on the court. Murray shot to his heart’s content and eventually reached a score that was only five points below his career record.
Michael Porter Jr. had 13 points and six rebounds, and the only other double-digit scorer was Nikola Jokić.
The Serbian center played this match in a relaxed rhythm, letting his Canadian teammate take the lead, while he was there to grab rebounds, pass the ball, and occasionally shoot.
Despite this, Jokić achieved another triple-double (146th in his career) with 10 points (4/7), 14 rebounds, and 10 assists. He also had two steals and one turnover in 29 minutes of play.
Dallas didn’t have many standout players. In the absence of Luka Dončić, Dwight Powell was the most effective with 13 points. Kyrie Irving had two fewer but with poor shooting percentages (4/18). Marshall had the same point total.
This is Denver’s fourth consecutive victory and 24th of the season, which is enough for fourth place in the Western Conference standings. Dallas has two positions below.
The Nuggets will host Houston in the next round, while the Texas team will travel to New Orleans.
