After an inspection at the Čačak hospital, external and internal controls, autopsy and all other examinations that are still ongoing, in the case of the death of minor E. M., no procedural or professional errors were found in the treatment and handling, while such errors were found in the treatment of patient M. M.,” said Dr. Dragoljub Paunović, advisor to the Minister of Health for inspection affairs.
A little over a month ago, by decision of the Minister of Health, temporary measures were introduced in the Čačak hospital. The management of the ENT department was taken over by doctors from UKC Serbia and UKC Kragujevac until all circumstances that led to two deaths in that department within a short period of time are established.
In accordance with legal procedure, the General Hospital Čačak conducted an internal control of professional work, while the final decision on whether there were omissions in treatment will be made by the court.
