This past weekend, Seka Aleksić, a folk star known for her strong opinions and character—something rare in today’s entertainment scene—held a concert in Chicago. It had been 13 years since Seka last performed in America, but she had a good reason for her absence…
In the meantime, she became a mother—twice.
The audience was a mini-diaspora, ranging from consuls to truck drivers, teenage girls to elderly women, with Serbs, Bosnians, Macedonians, Montenegrins, and even a few Americans in attendance.
We took the opportunity to sit down with Seka and discuss everything and anything. Watch her exclusive interview where she talks about family, raising children, life in the countryside, students, and politicians. Enjoy!
