Momčilo Bajagić Bajaga and his band Instruktori are celebrating 40 years of existence this year. One of the biggest Serbian and Balkan rock bands is celebrating this great jubilee with a world tour, which was also an opportunity to meet Bajaga in Chicago and do this interview, just before their first American concert…
“My friends are pearls scattered all over the world…”, say the lyrics of his famous song, and there is perhaps no better place to be reminded of those lyrics than Chicago, where the largest community of our people lives outside the Balkans.
In the interview, Bajaga talked to us about encounters with those “scattered pearls” he meets in the diaspora, about whether he currently has more friends in Serbia or abroad, but also about tours in exotic African countries, as well as a three-month tour of the Soviet Union, where he realized what the “Russian soul” really is.
In an interview with our editor Antonije Kovačević, Momčilo Bajagić revealed unknown details about his friendship and relationship with Bora Đorđević from the time of Riblja Čorba, as well as the fact that he will write music and release Bora’s last song.
