The Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office in Požega today requested that the police in Kosjerić take statements from the participants in the incident in front of a hospitality establishment in that town, among whom was the president of the municipality, Žarko Đokić, and that misdemeanor charges be filed against two persons under the Law on Public Order and Peace, the Ministry of Internal Affairs announced.
Half an hour after midnight, police in Kosjerić noticed a larger group of people verbally arguing, among whom were the president of the municipality of Kosjerić, Žarko Đokić (44), his son A. Đ. (20), and S. Đ. (46), and about 50 people on the other side.
Police officers separated those gathered and warned them about their behavior in order to prevent a disturbance of public order and peace, after which M. M. (29), during the police intervention, insulted a police officer.
At one o’clock after midnight, the son of the president of the municipality of Kosjerić, A. Đ., came to the premises of the Kosjerić Police Station and reported that several unknown persons had torn his shirt at a hospitality establishment, while police officers summoned his father Žarko Đokić and S. Đ. to come to the station and give statements.
Subsequently, S. V. (21) came in front of the Police Station allegedly to argue with S. Đ., which the police prevented. While leaving, he cursed employees of the Police Station, kicked a trash can, and damaged a gutter on a house, the statement said.
The Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office in Požega was informed of the event, and the police, in cooperation with the competent prosecutor’s office, are continuing further work to determine all the facts and circumstances of the incident.
