Humanitarian Marko Nikolić (36) from Vranje has donated €20,000 to the National Association of Parents of Children with Cancer (NURDOR), which was raised during his humanitarian campaign “For Our Little Heroes”.

“As the president of the Humanitarian Foundation ‘Together We Can,’ I want to thank all the good people who were part of the biggest undertaking in Europe. Because, without good people, we wouldn’t have raised such a significant amount for the treatment of children with cancer. I am proud of my people. We have done something great. In agreement with NURDOR, they will donate the remaining amount in the coming period to purchase the necessary equipment for the treatment of children with cancer, which costs around €100,000. Our mission has succeeded. Firstly, because we covered an incredible 2,450 kilometers by kayak, bicycle, and running, and secondly, because we raised the necessary funds for the treatment of children with cancer,” Marko Nikolić told Kurir.

Let us recall, humanitarian Marko Nikolić (36) from Vranje, on September 1st, embarked on an unimaginable undertaking for the sake of children with cancer. For thirty-six days, he spent time in Serbia and Montenegro, kayaking, cycling, and running to encourage people to donate.
His support in this project, which he conceived to encourage people to donate, was Balša Zajić, his friend from the Foundation “Together We Can”. Their goal was to raise money for an anesthesia machine with a patient monitor and infusion pump for children being treated at the University Clinical Center in Niš.

The device costs around €100,000 and would enable safer induction of children into general anesthesia during magnetic resonance imaging. It is essential not only for children with malignant diseases but also for those with other serious illnesses requiring magnetic resonance imaging.
