Police last night in Novi Sad used enormous force against citizens and students. Tear gas and stun grenades were used, and people were mercilessly beaten with batons for no reason. The members did not choose over whom they would fall, so scenes of the most brutal violence by the police were circulating on social networks.
An attack on an older man was recorded. After a blow from the Gendarmerie, the man falls, hits the crown of his head on the asphalt and remains motionless. The members of the Gendarmerie continued the intervention as if nothing had happened.
By the way, that man had a walking aid and for that reason he could not run away when the police attacked the citizens, but he stood calmly.

Let’s remember, the protest in Novi Sad ended with a brutal police showdown with students and citizens. Tear gas, stun grenades and batons were used. Dozens of people were injured, and in the late hours the police broke into the building of the Novi Sad Rectorate and held citizens and students captive in the amphitheater. After that, the Rector of the University entered the Rectorate building accompanied by riot police. The citizens were later released, some were written misdemeanor charges, while some were arrested.
