US President Donald Trump had an extraordinary address after the murder of right-wing activist Charlie Kirk at the University of Utah.
Trump said that it was “a dark moment for America” and condemned the “demonization of political opponents”. He published a four-minute message on his Truth Social network.
Donald Trump’s extraordinary address
-My fellow Americans, I am filled with sadness and anger at the heinous murder of Charlie Kirk at the University of Utah. Charlie inspired millions, and tonight all who knew and loved him are united in shock and horror – said Trump.
He then spoke of Kirk as a man of faith who loved his country and the American people.
-Charlie was a patriot who dedicated his life to open debate and the country he loved so much. He fought for freedom, democracy, justice and the American people. He is a martyr of truth and freedom, and there has never been anyone who enjoyed such respect from young people.
Our prayers are with his wife Erika, his two young and beloved children, and the family he loved more than anything. We pray that God watches over them in this terrible time of pain – said the president of America.

Accused the left of Kirk’s murder
Trump shifted the responsibility to those who, he says, have been fueling hatred and violence for years.
-It is long overdue for Americans and the media to admit that violence and murder are the tragic consequences of the daily demonization of those with whom they disagree. For years, the radical left has compared wonderful Americans like Charlie to Nazis and the world’s worst criminals and mass murderers. This type of rhetoric is directly responsible for the terrorism we are witnessing in our country and must stop immediately – he said.
Trump called on Americans to dedicate themselves to the values that Kirk stood for: “the values of freedom of speech, the rule of law and patriotic devotion and love for God.”
-Charlie was the best in America, and the monster that attacked him, attacked our whole country – he said.
Trump promised that his administration would find everyone involved in the murder of Charlie Kirk, as well as in any political violence.
