Dijana Hrka, the mother of Stefan Hrka, who died in the collapse of the canopy at the Novi Sad railway station, started a hunger strike today at 11:52 AM in front of the Serbian Parliament building, as “an expression of criticism of the regime of Aleksandar Vučić, which has been hiding the truth about the murder” of her son and the other 15 victims for a year.

In a post on Instagram, Dijana Hrka also demanded that the President of Serbia “call elections and release all students who were unlawfully deprived of liberty from detention.” She called on the public, the media, and all citizens who “believe in truth and justice” to support her fight.

Dijana Hrka announced the hunger strike yesterday at a commemorative gathering in Novi Sad on the anniversary of the tragedy at the railway station, stating that she would strike “across from ‘ćaciland'” and that she was starting the fight alone, distancing herself from the students, to whom she thanked for “keeping her alive.”

She also thanked bikers and the “ordinary people” for their support.

“Today Novi Sad is crying. But I am fighting so that none of us ever cries again. I will tell Aleksandar Vučić to call elections,” Dijana Hrka said, emphasizing that she must know who killed her child and the other 15 people.
