Ivica Ignjatović from Bijelo Polje, on Tuesday, February 24, saved Duško Dragaš from Pljevlja with a brave and quick reaction from a car that, after a traffic accident, ended up right on the bank of the Ljuboviđa river.
Ignjatović was the first to come across the scene of the accident on the Slijepač Most – Pljevlja regional road, through the Vraneš valley, where the vehicle skidded off the road and partially ended up in the water. Without thinking, he approached the car, pulled the driver to safety, and waited for the arrival of the Emergency Service and firefighters.
„I was the first to come by after his skidding. The car was partially in the water. I pulled him out and waited for the Emergency Service and firefighters. In the meantime, I talked to him and found out that he has a prosthetic leg and is a diabetic,“ Ignjatović told the VBP portal.
„I gave instructions for his transport to the hospital, so that everything would proceed without additional complications. This is the first time I have gone down to the scene of an accident and provided first aid,“ he added.
„I want to say thank you, the man saved me, I wish him every happiness and I am grateful for my whole life. From today, Ivica is my brother,“ Dragaš stated for the VBP portal and adds that he has no injuries and feels well, all thanks to the brave man from Bijelo Polje.
Dragaš emphasizes that thanks to Ignjatović, he was not trapped in the car for long, Radio Sarajevo reports.
„Fortunately, I was not stuck in the car for long, Ivica saved me, I am a man without a leg and I would not have been able to get out on my own, I have a prosthesis on my leg,“ Dragaš adds.
