The girlfriend of the young man from Podgorica, who was attacked and wounded with a knife by a group of Turkish citizens on Saturday evening, told the media details of the incident, as she was present.
According to her, a group of Turks was walking down the street – the first group of three, and three more behind them.
„They were singing something, shouting insults… All in all, they asked if there was any problem. Then my boyfriend stood up, asked them what it was about and if there was a problem. They answered that there was, attacked him and immediately pulled out knives,“ said the girl.
Although the attack was brutal, the girl pointed out that her boyfriend’s life is not in danger.
„Thank God that everything happened so that it went as it should. No vital organ was injured, his life is not in danger, but he bled a lot and has a head injury“.
The attack provoked strong reactions from the citizens of Podgorica, who set fire to a shop and cars belonging to Turkish citizens in the city in protest. In response to the incident, the government temporarily abolished the visa-free regime for Turkish citizens.
