The company Telekom Srbija has issued a statement regarding the data theft and revealed further steps toward resolving the problem.
The company Telekom Srbija addressed the public regarding a security incident that encompassed a portion of user data. The official announcement states key facts about this event, as well as measures taken in cooperation with competent institutions.

-We inform the public that a theft of a small portion of data from our user database has occurred, carried out by so far unknown perpetrators. This concerns the data of a certain number of users of the satellite television service m:SAT tv. The company Telekom Srbija immediately reported the case to the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MUP), specifically to the Department for High-Tech Crime. Considering that the perpetrators of this act contacted us with the goal of blackmailing us, communication with them was conducted in coordination with the MUP and according to their instructions, so that the perpetrators could be identified and found as quickly as possible.
The company Telekom Srbija is working intensively with the police to discover the perpetrators of this act. The security of telecommunications services is not threatened and all services are being provided without interruption. We believe that the competent institutions will very quickly reach the perpetrators of this criminal act – the statement says.
