All zones of investigative mining fields, including the area of Studena and Kopajska rivers, will be excluded from the graphic and textual part of the Draft Spatial Plan of the City of Niš, confirmed the relevant councilor Ivan Grmuša, writes N1.
Grmuša rejects the opposition’s claims that the City Administration of Niš received more than 7,000 objections to the Draft Plan.
“That number is 1,998,” says Grmuša.
Explanations are currently unavailable, and the Commission for Plans said that they “did not group the objections but are looking at them individually.”
As a reminder, a company from Australia is seeking permission to explore copper and silver reserves, deeply search the terrain, and drill near the water source from which Niš is supplied with drinking water. That is why opposition deputies from Niš submitted a request to the Ministry of Mining and Energy for a ban on the exploration and excavation of copper and gold in the Studena water source zone.
