Serbian MMA national team representative, Dževad Baltić, continued to write the history of this sport for Serbia. At the current IMMAF World Championship, he won a new, his fifth medal in the national jersey – this time a bronze.
In the quarter-finals against Patrick Genov from Bulgaria, Baltić showed complete control during all three rounds. His aggressiveness and technical superiority brought him a victory by unanimous decision of the judges. Although he qualified for the semi-finals, due to an unfavorable medical finding caused by frequent weight loss during the competition, he was not given the green light to continue competing and thus stopped at the bronze medal.
This is already the fifth medal Baltić has brought to Serbia in the last four years, confirming his status as one of the most decorated Serbian amateur MMA fighters.
Baltić won a bronze medal for the national team in 2022 in Lignano at the European Championship in the light heavyweight category up to 93 kilograms. The following year, 2023 in Belgrade, he reached bronze at the World Championship, also in the up to 93 kilograms category. A year later, 2024 in Tashkent, he won another bronze at the World Championship, this time in the heavyweight category up to 97 kilograms. He achieved his greatest success in 2025 in Belgrade, when he became the European champion and won the gold medal in the up to 97 kilograms category. In the same year in Tbilisi, he added another bronze from the World Championship, thus confirming his status as the most decorated Serbian MMA athlete.
With this success, Dževad Baltić reached his third consecutive world medal (2023, 2024, 2025), while the overall balance of Serbia under the auspices of the IMMAF World MMA Federation in the last four years has increased to an impressive 32 medals.
Three years in a row, Dževad Baltić has brought medals from the biggest competitions, and his perseverance and results represent a huge incentive for all young fighters and confirmation that Serbian MMA is on the world map.
