The Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Novi Sad announced this morning that 11 people were arrested due to the collapse of a canopy at the Novi Sad train station. Media reports stated that Goran Vesić was among those arrested.

However, Vesić addressed the matter on the social media platform Instagram, stating that these reports were incorrect.

“I was not arrested. I voluntarily responded to the invitation of the police officers, with whom I came to Novi Sad and made myself available to the investigative authorities so that all circumstances leading to the accident in Novi Sad could be thoroughly investigated.

I will always, as I have in the past, be available to the competent authorities, and I will prove that I bear no criminal responsibility for these tragic events.

Further developments will be communicated to the public and the media by the law firm representing me in this matter,” Vesić wrote on Instagram.
