The feature film “General,” produced by “Pogledi,” premiered in London on March 14, at the Bishop Nikolaj House. After the screening, the film was rewarded with long applause and a standing ovation, and due to high interest, another screening was announced at the Hotel “Ravna Gora” house.

The introductory speech before the screening was given by historian and activist Aleksa Kričkić, and it is interesting that there were quite a few Englishmen at the London screening, who were able to follow the film’s plot without problems because the version shown featured English subtitles.

Soon, the film should begin showing in the United States of America as well, and the first screening has been announced for April 4 in Chicago.

“General” has so far been shown in a large number of cinemas in Serbia and Republika Srpska and has been seen by over 15,000 viewers, which, according to the distributors, is twice the average viewership of domestic films in cinemas.

In addition to America and Canada, where the exclusive distributor is our portal “Serbian Times,” screenings are expected in Australia and France, as well as in a series of smaller towns in Serbia and Republika Srpska (Despotovac, Kovin, Paraćin, Čelinac, Laktaši…)

Unfortunately, “General” will not be able to be shown in Montenegro, where this film encountered a tacit ban and ended up in the “bunker.”

-Not a single cinema dares to take the film because a manhunt against the Ravna Gora movement is underway in Montenegro, where the role of the Yugoslav Army in the Fatherland during the Second World War is portrayed negatively and unilaterally, says the author and director of “General,” Miloslav Samardžić, and adds:

-The previous film produced by “Pogledi,” in which the main character is Nikola Kalabić, was announced in Podgorica, but was removed from the repertoire due to protests by (neo)communists. I remind you that the police in Montenegro are still searching for the monument to Pavle Đurišić, which was temporarily placed in the village of Gornje Zaostro near Berane.

The theme of “General” is the turning point war events of 1943, about which no films or TV series have been filmed until now.

-Such films have the task of opening an epoch, to convince the broad masses how they were raised on historical lies or through an ideological mantra from birth, are the words of writer Igor Ivanović.

The character of General Draža is portrayed by one of the best Serbian actors, Nikola Rakočević.
