The search for two fishermen, Stefan Krstić (38) and Slaviša Antić (47), at Lake Barje near Leskovac has entered its third day, and so far not a single trace of their disappearance has been found. As Kurir has learned, Gendarmerie divers will also arrive today to assist!
“The arrival of Gendarmerie divers is expected today. Everything is being thoroughly searched, both the water and the shore, but so far there has been no progress. Officially, the authorities’ search has entered its second day, since the disappearance was reported on Thursday afternoon. However, for the families, this is already the third day they have been gone,” said a source familiar with the case, adding:
“The authorities, police, fire and rescue teams, and members of the Emergency Situations Sector have been intensively searching the water and inaccessible parts of the shore from the very first moment, but the results are still without answers,” the Kurir source said.
Friends and families of the missing men are shaken and increasingly fearful.
“It’s the third day they’ve been gone. Every hour is harder. We don’t know what to think anymore, we’re already starting to panic and it’s hard to stay composed. We are all shaken and in uncertainty. The third day has dawned and not a word from them. We have absolutely no information,” said one friend.
As she added, the two men went to their cottage in the village of Crcavac, and when they did not check in the following morning, the police were immediately alerted. Attempts to contact them by mobile phone went unanswered, and there has also been no trace of their military boat, which further deepens the mystery of what actually happened on the lake.
The families and friends of the missing men do not hide their despair and disbelief. As the interviewee emphasizes, Stefan and Slaviša have been friends for years and regular visitors to the cottage in the village of Crcavac, near the lake.
“They’ve been friends for years and regularly come to that cottage, they love to fish. They know the terrain extremely well, every inch of it. That’s why it’s completely unbelievable to us that they simply vanished,” the shaken friend said.
According to her, the two men are experienced fishermen and very cautious when it comes to being on the water.
“They’re not reckless, on the contrary. They always paid attention to weather conditions, equipment, and safety. They know the lake better than many who live there. That’s why we cannot understand how it’s possible that they disappeared without a single trace,” the interviewee concluded.
