Serbian shooters won five out of a possible 12 medals at the “Osijek Grand Prix” tournament, which concluded the shooting weekend in the “Gradski vrt” hall. Shooters from 17 countries competed, and the representatives of Serbia were by far the most successful.
There were four finals on the program on the second day. Two of the five medals won by our competitors were gold, secured by Damir Mikec with a pistol and Anđelija Stevanović with a rifle.
Unlike the “Christmas Cup,” held a day earlier, all participants competed in a single category.
Damir Mikec (Policajac) entered the air pistol final from second place. For most of the final, he was in second or third position, but in the end, he broke into the lead, overtaking Ukrainian Maksym Khymon. Uroš Gajić, a junior from Niš, also brought a medal to Serbia in this discipline, “hitting” the bronze. Gajić was also third in the junior competition at the “Christmas Cup,” in which Mikec did not start.

In the women’s rifle competition as well, gold and bronze medals went to Serbia. Eighteen-year-old Anđelija Stevanović (“Dragan Jevtić Škepo”) won the gold, and the one-year-younger Anastasija Živković (Gatos Lebane) won the bronze. Anđelija again achieved the best result in the qualifications, 632.9 rings, while in an uncertain fight in the final, she was in the lead almost constantly and triumphed ahead of Olga Tashchiyeva from Israel and Živković.
Aleksa Rakonjac (Pančevo 1813) won silver in the last final of the tournament, the men’s rifle. Alongside him on the podium were two Croatian shooters. Josip Sikavica won, and Toma Tadić took third place.
