The Finnish wonder kid, Mika Muurinen, has arrived in Belgrade. Just a day after Ostoja Mijailović, the president of Partizan, confirmed that “Skinny Jesus” had signed a three-year contract with the black-and-whites, Muurinen arrived at Nikola Tesla Airport on a flight from Warsaw.
Mika Muurinen has arrived in Belgrade!
Ostoja Mijailović, the president of Partizan, confirmed on Friday evening that the Finn had signed a three-year contract with the black-and-whites, and just 24 hours after that confirmation, the young basketball player landed in the Serbian capital.
Arriving on a flight from Warsaw shortly after 5:40 PM, Muurinen was greeted by a delegation from the team at Nikola Tesla Airport.
He was visibly cheerful and immediately upon landing, he was given a Partizan scarf, with which he posed for photos.
— “I feel very good, because ever since I was five years old, my dream has been to play in Serbia and in the EuroLeague. That’s why I feel great. I’ve watched a few games of Serbian clubs, so I know the basketball culture here is great and I like that. Partizan has an excellent coach, good players, this is the best opportunity for me at this moment. And the EuroLeague has more to offer me than college. I’m excited to play in front of our fans,” Muurinen said upon his arrival in Belgrade.
Ever since it was announced that Partizan was interested in the 18-year-old Finn’s services, discussion about him hasn’t stopped, not only in Serbia but also worldwide.
