Saša Panić, the father of murdered sister and brother Kristina and Milan Panić, awaited the verdict for Uroš and Radiša Blažić in front of the Special Court building because, as he said, he could no longer listen to the details of how his children were killed. At one point, he got angry, swore, and went outside.

“You heard for yourselves that the judge described in detail the consequences he caused to these children. He destroyed them, he destroyed their bodies. Even the death penalty is too mild for him, that’s my opinion, I still stick to that. I just wanted to thank the prosecutor Ivan Konatar on this occasion, who really made an effort. Of all these people at the trial, I am most grateful to him because he really acted like a real prosecutor. He clarified this case quite well,” Saša Panić, whose daughter and son were killed by Uroš, told reporters after the verdict.

Panić believes that there are more people responsible for this crime and that these verdicts will not hold accountable everyone who is actually guilty. Referring to the weapons he brought from the army, he said that he certainly could not have done that alone.

“There is a procedure in the army – you know how you can enter and exit. You can’t take out whatever you want, nor can you bring in. So someone helped him bring all this in and supply himself with so many weapons. So I think that they should have investigated further and that other individuals who were accomplices in this should also be held accountable. Because everyone must bear their own responsibility, and especially if you wear the uniform of the Serbian Army or police, you have a greater responsibility than an ordinary citizen,” Panić said.
