Nikola Jović once again showed against Minnesota that he has returned to good form, but this time it was not enough for Miami to extend its winning streak in the NBA.

The Heat were defeated at home in Florida by the Timberwolves 125–115, ending a four-game winning run that had begun with the Serbian international’s return to the court after an elbow injury.

Jović played a very mature game and finished the match with 14 points, four assists, and three rebounds. He especially shone in the first half, when he was almost perfect — scoring 11 points without a miss (2/2 on two-pointers, 1/1 from three, 4/4 from the free-throw line), along with three rebounds and three assists.

In the second half, like the entire Miami team, he fell into a rhythm he could not escape.

The turning point came midway through the third quarter. The Heat were leading 74–71 at that point, but a sudden drop in play followed, with a series of missed shots, turnovers, and easy points Minnesota picked up from the free-throw line.

An additional problem for the home team was the absence of Jaime Jaquez in the second half due to injury.

The Timberwolves then completely took control, with Naz Reid and Anthony Edwards playing key roles. Reid scored 20 points in the second half, while Edwards added 13 and was unstoppable when the game was on the line.

In the end, Edwards led Minnesota with 33 points and five assists, Reid added 29 with four rebounds, while Julius Randle provided strong support with 23 points and ten rebounds, and Rudy Gobert recorded a double-double of 13 points and 12 rebounds.

For Miami, alongside Jović, the most notable performers were Norman Powell with 21 points and Davion Mitchell, who had 14 points and six assists.
