Serbian Prime Minister Đuro Macut has agreed to the condition set by the Rector of the University of Belgrade, Vladan Đokić, for holding today’s meeting, which is that he be accompanied by five other representatives of the University, FoNet has learned.
In addition to Rector Đokić, the meeting will be attended by the Vice-Rector for Teaching, as well as four deans, representatives of each group of faculties – medical, social-humanistic, natural-mathematical, and technical-technological.
Đokić announced on Tuesday that he had accepted Macut’s invitation to continue the discussion on problems in higher education on Wednesday, although Macut did not respond to the University’s invitation to continue the talks on April 28 or 29 with the deans of all faculties.

“I accepted the invitation on the condition that, in addition to myself and the Vice-Rector for Teaching, the deans, representatives of all four groups of faculties of the University of Belgrade, also participate in the discussion,” said Đokić, emphasizing that he believes that dialogue must be continued in the interest of all members of the academic community, the state and society as a whole.
He announced that he will present the document “Platform of the University of Belgrade for discussion with representatives of the competent authorities and institutions” as a starting point for dialogue.
“I hope that the dialogue will be a step towards resolving the accumulated, decades-long problems in higher education and contribute to the necessary change in the working atmosphere and the calming of tensions between all social actors,” Đokić stated.
