Police Lieutenant Colonel Bojan Đorđević has been appointed as the new Chief of the Niš Police Administration (PU Niš), after Dejan Milenković was previously dismissed due to the disappearance of weapons from the Doljevac Police Station (PS Doljevac), the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MUP) announced.
The Chief of the Police Administration in Niš, as well as the Chief of the Doljevac Police Station, the Commander of the Doljevac Police Outpost, and the acting Chief of the Administrative Affairs Department of the PU in Niš have been removed from work, and proceedings have been initiated against them due to a serious violation of official duty in connection with the disappearance of weapons from PS Doljevac, the MUP states.
Also, disciplinary proceedings have been initiated against the Deputy Chief of the PU in Niš, the Chief of the Police Department, the Deputy Commander of the Doljevac Police Outpost, and one police officer at the PI Doljevac due to a serious violation of official duty.
The newly appointed Chief of the PU Niš, Police Lieutenant Colonel Bojan Đorđević, was born in Niš, finished primary and secondary school in Niš, and the Police Academy in Belgrade.
He served as the Deputy Head of Service in the Criminal Police Directorate, as well as the Deputy Chief of the PU in Niš. In his long police career, in 2021, he led the investigation that spanned several months to shed light on one of the most brutal criminal acts committed in Serbia, the murder and burning of the three-member Đokić family in Aleksinac. He personally participated in the collection of material evidence and found the means of execution of the criminal act (a pistol) which contributed to the perpetrator of the crime being definitively sentenced to life imprisonment.
