A real drama unfolded last night in Voždovac when a 24-year-old man, D.E., forcibly dragged his ex-girlfriend into a car and began brutally assaulting her. He reportedly grabbed the woman by the neck and struck her while holding her captive in the vehicle, but the quick intervention of Belgrade police led to the interception of his Škoda car. The perpetrator was immediately arrested and taken into custody.
Officers from the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Belgrade, Police Station Voždovac, in cooperation with the Second Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office in Belgrade, arrested D.E. (24) on suspicion of committing the criminal offenses of endangering safety and unlawful deprivation of liberty.
According to the investigation, last night in Voždovac, the suspect forced his 30-year-old former partner into a Škoda Fabia and then applied pressure to her neck with his hands while delivering several blows.
The police quickly stopped the vehicle and arrested the suspect.
D.E. has been placed in detention for up to 48 hours and will be brought, along with a criminal complaint, before the competent prosecutor’s office.
