On Tuesday, someone destroyed the mural with the likeness of Novak Đoković in Belgrade.

The work of artist and activist Andrej Josifovski, known as Pijanista (The Pianist), was inspired by Novak’s famous “pumping” during this year’s Wimbledon.

The mural, which depicts Đoković in the moment of characteristic gesticulation and raising energy, featured the inscription:

“PUMP, PUMP, why did you stop!?”

However, less than 24 hours after that act, the author of the mural, Andrej Josifovski, returned his work to its original state with a message.

“A day’s wage will never defeat a sincere emotion! PUMP, PUMP, why did you stop?!”

This move delighted Novak Đoković himself, who liked Josifovski’s move.
