Milorad Dodik attended the National Prayer Breakfast in Washington today, as part of his first visit to the United States since the lifting of sanctions.
In a statement he gave exclusively to Serbian Times, he emphasized that he is very satisfied with what he has seen and experienced over the past few days.
“An extremely successful, productive visit to the United States that is beneficial to the interests of Republika Srpska. Republika Srpska is no longer a topic that is talked about, but a subject and partner that is talked to. Numerous meetings with officials have confirmed this,” said the leader of the Bosnian Serbs, adding:
“With the return of President Donald Trump to the White House, America has returned to a policy of stability, respect for agreements, and a realistic view of the world. The job of great powers is not to experiment with the destinies of peoples through nation-building projects and the dismantling of existing orders and international agreements, but to use their strength to preserve peace where it has been achieved and to resolve real problems where they exist.”
Dodik highlights the changes on the global political scene:
“This is a time in which politics is once again returning to its essence—peace, stability, and responsibility. And that is good news for all peoples who want a secure future, not constant crises. Republika Srpska, through its policies, was one of the pioneers of that approach and will reap the fruits of its faith and efforts in the years to come,” Milorad Dodik concluded.
