The President of the Republic of Srpska, Milorad Dodik, said today that he is staying in Srpska and in the office he holds, and that he has no intention of leaving, and his fate, he announced, will be decided by the people in a referendum that will be held.
“I will be here, I have no intention of leaving either Srpska or my office. I will defeat them with their own weapons. The judiciary of Bosnia and Herzegovina has violated everything it could… I feel free to promote my ideas and policies and I will do so, to build Srpska with the people and only the people can decide how we will move forward,” Dodik said at an extraordinary press conference in Banja Luka.
The agreement on this, Dodik said, was reached at today’s meeting with coalition partners and representatives of the highest government bodies, on the occasion of the newly arisen situation.
“The coalition is determined to continue to defend the constitutional and Dayton position of the Republic of Srpska, which is threatened by the actions of Christian Schmidt,” Dodik stated.
Pointing to the illegal and illegitimate status of Christian Schmidt, Dodik said that Article 10 of Dayton was violated, because they believe they have the right to manage the fate of the people.
“I am not talking about myself personally, the people gave me the mandate, we will listen to them in a referendum about me that will be held in the coming period,” Dodik said, calling on all Serbs in the Republic of Srpska to gather around the Republic.
Dodik said that he will not kneel or beg, but will fight and break the illusion of any possibility of cooperating with Muslims.
He pointed out that Muslims are pathological enemies of the Serbian people and said that the Republic of Srpska does not kneel.
“I will neither kneel nor crawl, but I will fight and I think they will have a problem with that fight. I am convinced that good times are coming for Srpska,” Dodik said.
He pointed out that he decided to listen to the people because the people gave him the mandate.
“They think they have won, I think they have lost. The only serious thing is that they violated the Constitution of the Republic of Srpska and the Constitution of Bosnia and Herzegovina and want to introduce a practice where they can nullify everything we have, both the constitution and the laws,” Dodik said.
He pointed out that the Serbian people must understand that he was being judged.
“I am not the Serbian people but I am the president of the Republic,” Dodik pointed out.
He stated that Bosniak politics never wanted anything for Bosnia and Herzegovina, but only wanted everything against the Republic of Srpska, but that they did not make Bosnia and Herzegovina happier or the Republic of Srpska smaller.
The president of the Republic said that Bosniak politics has spent all its wishes and that they spent their last wish on eliminating him.
“They didn’t want for themselves, they wanted against us. Everything they do was aimed against the Republic of Srpska and they never asked for anything for Bosnia and Herzegovina, but against the Republic of Srpska,” Dodik pointed out.
He pointed out that all of these were political decisions, hidden in the guise of a supposed judiciary that has broken everything it could from the legal system and the hierarchy in legal jurisdiction.
They, he says, wrote the verdict in a Sarajevo drawing-room, but the people write history. In Sarajevo, he added, he was judged because they could not put all the Serbs in the courtroom.
“This has gone too far”
All of this, he pointed out, was a farce to get a conviction.
“I am receiving messages from many who were against my actions that this has gone too far. They had many articles of the criminal laws to prosecute me and they searched for 20 years to convict me and they did not succeed. That’s why they took Schmidt. In the process we watched, we only saw Muslim judges and prosecutors in both proceedings. It was all a farce to get to what they think they can implement,” Dodik said.
With this procedure, he points out, he got the best and strongest proof that he is working for the Republic of Srpska and the Serbian people.
“They thought they could break the will of the Serbian people… This is a modified way of the crimes they commit against Serbs,” Dodik specified and pointed out that he believes the Serbian people know and understand that he was convicted only because he was the president of the Republic of Srpska.
“I was not a sycophant and I was not ready to sacrifice Serbian interests. There are individuals who hate me more than they love the Republic of Srpska. There are no such people among the people, and that’s why I decided to ask the people,” Dodik said.
