At the Faculty of Law in Belgrade, students from all higher-education institutions in the capital are gathering today to watch together, in an amphitheater, the Australian Open final match between Novak Đoković and Carlos Alcaraz. Speaking to Nova.rs, students send a message to the most decorated tennis player of all time: “even though for some you are a failed tennis player, for us you are a champion regardless of the match outcome—so may everyone fail like you!”

Law students invited their colleagues from all faculties in Belgrade to watch the Australian Open today from the amphitheater of this faculty, and judging by the reactions among their peers, future lawyers say they expect a large turnout and that there will surely be standing room only for the gathering titled “Did you say something?”, inspired by the message Đoković wrote on one of the cameras after his semifinal victory.

“The projector and video screen are ready, and we’re all watching Đoković together in Amphitheater 1. We expect many fellow students—our invitation has been accepted by colleagues from all faculties. Whatever happens today, Nole is a champion for us, and of course we’re hoping for the 25th title that we’ll celebrate together! We’re waiting for the victory of this, for some, ‘failed tennis player,’ which is why I hope the saying will catch on among the people: ‘may you fail like Novak Đoković,’” says Veljko Ćirović, a student at the Faculty of Law in Belgrade, with a smile.

He emphasizes that Nole is a professor to all students and a champion forever.

“For us, he’s a champion no matter what happens today. Those who call him a failure say more about themselves and their own weakness, because they’re ready, on party orders, to smear anyone—even Đoković. Our attitude toward him, on the other hand, speaks of our superiority, as does the fact that we are supported by champions like Đoković, Vidić, Mandić, Bodiroga, and many others. Đoković wore a hoodie with the inscription ‘Students are champions,’ so who are we to contradict the greatest among us. Finally, on behalf of my fellow students, I’d just add: ‘Professor Nole, students love you!’ Good luck—we’re waiting to celebrate the 25th title together!” stresses Veljko, who prepared the amphitheater this morning with his colleagues for students from all faculties and the uninterrupted viewing of the tennis match.

We remind you that students of the Faculty of Law of the University of Belgrade invited all colleagues to watch the Australian Open final match with them.

“We invite you to cheer together for our most decorated athlete in yet another endeavor! Amphitheater I is open to all students who want to watch the final!” reads the comment accompanying the invitation titled “Did you say something?”, alongside which a photo of Đoković and the slogan “Professor Nole, students love you!” were published.
