Russia launched missiles this morning at the center of Sumy in northeastern Ukraine, striking a trolleybus and killing several civilians. The attack was carried out with an Iskander-M missile, Ukrainian authorities confirmed.

The acting mayor of Sumy, Artem Kobzar, stated that there are “many dead” and that “the enemy has once again attacked the civilian population.” The first images from the scene show destroyed civilian buildings and vehicles in the city center, and according to initial reports, a city trolleybus was among the vehicles hit.

A video has also been released showing the moment of impact, in which bodies are seen lying on the street and fires are raging in Sumy.
A similar attack occurred a few days ago in Kryvyi Rih, the hometown of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. At least 20 people were killed in Russian shelling of a residential building and public facilities, including nine children, with dozens more injured.
Moscow claimed, without any evidence, that it had targeted a gathering point of Ukrainian soldiers and Western instructors.
