At the proposal of the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Belgrade, the judge for preliminary proceedings of the Higher Court in Belgrade ordered detention of up to 30 days for Tihomir Krstić, who is suspected of attempting to kill a woman in New Belgrade.
– Detention was ordered due to the risk of flight, the danger that if he remained at liberty he could repeat the criminal offense, as well as because of disturbance of the public – a Kurir source stated.
As a reminder, Krstić was brought today for questioning to the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Belgrade, where he chose to defend himself by remaining silent. After the questioning, the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office immediately requested that detention of up to 30 days be ordered.

As we previously reported, Krstić is suspected that on Saturday at around 1:10 p.m. he entered a building in Block 37 after a woman, S.Ć. (67), who was returning from a playground with her three-year-old grandson, began stabbing her relentlessly in front of the child, stole her purse, and fled. Police immediately launched an extensive search for him, and he was arrested the day before yesterday in Rakovica on the order of the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Belgrade.
– At the time of arrest he was cold. Members of the Belgrade Police Directorate asked him why he stabbed an innocent woman in front of a child, which particularly shook everyone, and what he replied to them in a dead-calm manner froze them! He said: “I am HIV positive and I am a drug addict, I don’t care, I have nothing to lose!” – the source said.
As we have written, Tihomir Krstić is a multiple recidivist, having been convicted at least seven times so far, and he was released from serving a multi-year prison sentence in Zabela two months ago.
– For the past two months, since being at liberty, he lived in Rakovica with a woman with whom he was in an emotional relationship – the source states.
