Croatia has sent a protest note to the authorities in Belgrade, expressing dissatisfaction with the treatment of Croatian citizens in Serbia.

The note was announced on Wednesday by Croatian Foreign Minister Gordan Grlić Radman.

According to N1 Zagreb, the protest note demands an explanation and conveys strong disapproval regarding the treatment of five Croatian nationals in Serbia.

To recall, the Croatian citizens were among 13 foreign nationals detained in Belgrade without explanation two nights ago. They were subsequently expelled from Serbia and banned from entering the country for one year.

The individuals had been participating in the Erste Academy for NGOs, organized by the Erste Foundation, on Monday and Tuesday in Belgrade.
