Suzana Rogan, a teacher at the Kragujevac Trade and Hospitality School “Toza Dragović,” who was dismissed this summer after supporting students and high school graduates, has been reinstated by decision of the Basic Court.
The Basic Court in Kragujevac on Tuesday (September 16) issued a temporary measure returning teacher Suzana Rogan to her job.
She will remain employed until the final conclusion of the lawsuit in which she seeks annulment of the dismissal decision.
No appeal is allowed against this court decision on the temporary measure, and the school must comply within eight days of receiving the ruling.
Rogan had also, as reported, pointed out numerous irregularities in the work of the school principal.
As Rogan told the Beta agency, on Wednesday (September 17) she submitted the court’s reinstatement decision to the school secretary.
The Serbian language and literature teacher was dismissed on July 10 from the school where she had worked for three decades, officially because she failed to justify a four-day absence during her participation in the march from Kragujevac to Niš.

Dismissals in schools
Rogan was not the only one dismissed during the summer break for supporting students.
Andrea Besedeš, after 16 years of work at an elementary school in Bajmok near Subotica, previously spoke to “Vreme” about her dismissal.
More than 200 teachers across Serbia, employed on fixed-term contracts, were dismissed just before the start of the new school year, and as a rule, those who supported the students were the ones let go.
