Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that he is ready to meet with US President Donald Trump, noting that such a direct conversation would be useful, but that it needs to be prepared.
Putin emphasized that “while conditions are being created for the restoration of relations” between Russia and the US, Moscow is ready to maintain this trend, RIA Novosti reported.
The Russian president assessed that there would be no Russian-Ukrainian conflict if Trump had won the 2020 elections, and that the current situation is a consequence of the decisions of former US President Joseph Biden.
Putin stated that in one of his last conversations with Biden, he warned the former US president about the dangers of his policy regarding Ukraine.
