Serbian tennis player Aleksandra Krunić and Kazakhstan’s Anna Danilina advanced today to the second round of the Australian Open in Melbourne in the doubles competition.
Krunić and Danilina defeated American Quinn Gleason and Russian Elena Pridankina 7:5, 4:6, 6:0 after two and a half hours of play.

The Serbian–Kazakh pair were trailing 4:1 in the first set, but turned the match around and won that set 7:5. Krunić and Danilina opened the second set with a break, but their opponents later leveled at 3:3 and then, with a break in the tenth game, equalized at 1:1 in sets.
In the third set, Krunić and Danilina dominated, did not allow their opponents a single break, and after converting their third match point, secured a place in the next round.
In the second round of the Australian Open, Krunić and Danilina will face home players Daria Kasatkina and Arina Rodionova.
