Rock legend Bora Đorđević died on September 4 last year, and the city of Čačak and his family have erected a monument on the grave of the legendary frontman of “Riblja Čorba” at the City Cemetery in Čačak.

According to the famous musician’s wish, his monument features two crossed guitars, just as he wrote in the last song the group “Riblja Čorba” recorded.

His wish was to be buried in Čačak

Bora Đorđević passed away in Ljubljana on September 4 last year, and according to his own wish, he was buried in his hometown of Čačak.

As a native of Čačak, he pointed out that despite his decades-long career, he had stage fright when performing in his hometown.

He was declared an honorary citizen, and he welcomed with a smile the stories that he deserved to have a street in the city named after him.

Biography of Bora Čorba

Borisav Bora Đorđević, also known as Bora Čorba (Čačak, November 1, 1952) is a Serbian rock musician and poet. Đorđević has been the lead singer and songwriter of the rock band Riblja Čorba since its formation in 1978. Before that, he was a member of the musical groups Suncokret and Rani Mraz. Bora Čorba is one of the most famous musicians of the Serbian and Yugoslav rock scene, with a large number of fans, as well as a memorable and influential public figure.

He was a member of numerous pop and rock groups in Čačak and Belgrade during the 1970s, such as Zajedno, Suncokret, and Rani Mraz (with Đorđe Balašević).

In Belgrade, he enrolled in the 5th Belgrade Gymnasium, and then the Faculty of Law. After two years, he realized that profession was not for him, so he tried to enroll in the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Belgrade. Since he was not admitted to acting, he enrolled in theater organization at FDU. He has been a senior student since then.
