BISHOP SERGIJE DECORATED VUČIĆ: The president of Serbia was presented with the Order of the holy new martyrs! (VIDEO)

The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, was presented today in Belgrade with the Order of the Holy New Martyrs of Bihać-Petrovac, which was handed to him by the Bishop of the Bihać-Petrovac Serbian Orthodox Church, Sergije.

Vučić stated that he does not receive this recognition as a personal exaltation, but as a seal of spiritual togetherness and as a testimony that everyone, from their own place, is called to carry the burden of the times together.

“Receiving this distinction, I feel that it exceeds every personal measure. It is a call for even greater responsibility. Everything we did, we did because of faith, love, and hope for our people and their future,” the president wrote, among other things.

Bishop Sergije presented the Order of the Holy New Martyrs of Bihać-Petrovac to Vučić “for the demonstrated charity and great love for that diocese and the Rmanj monastery,” according to the statement.

Who is Bishop Sergije

Bishop Sergije of Bihać-Petrovac has been known from before for statements in which he elevates President Vučić to a deity, so much so that he even compared him to Jesus Christ himself.

Bishop Sergije (Karanović) of Bihać-Petrovac from the Rmanj monastery in Martin Brod in Bosnia and Herzegovina, in recent years, parallel to his hymns of praise for Vučić, has criticized “certain media” and the “second Serbians,” specifically everyone who does not agree with the president’s policy.

This bishop is also famous for the open letters he often publishes, in which the main character is frequently the president of Serbia himself. In a letter published back in 2023 on the website of the Diocese of Bihać-Petrovac, Sergije wrote a kind of ode to the president of the republic, so it is no surprise that he decorated him today with the Order of the New Martyrs.

“Who cursed Aleksandar Vučić, so that, in addition to all the pressures from Western and Eastern sides, to those coming from the satellite government of Albin Kurti, he must still suffer blows from within, from those who should be his own, to strengthen him with support, at least while he is at the head of the state?” Sergije wrote at the time.

He then compared Vučić to Karađorđe and Miloš Obrenović.

“We cut off Karađorđe’s head, and later glorified him in stories and songs. We exiled Miloš Obrenović from Serbia, took away his power, only to later call him Miloš the Great, because he saw what we did not know how to, because he knew what we did not know,” wrote Sergije, obviously a great admirer of the president’s character and work.

Of course, none of these comparisons can measure up to when he equated Vučić with Christ and wrote in his letter titled “The Crucifixion of Aleksandar Vučić” in 2020:

“As long as they crucify Aleksandar Vučić, I know that things have started well for us, that we are making progress, that we are where we are. When they go silent, I will know it is not as it should be, that we are disappearing and that we will be no more. Vučić’s crucifixion is our resurrection!”.

Although this letter shocked part of the public, only four days after its publication, the Bishop of Bihać-Petrovac and Rmanj Sergije, in the Rmanj monastery, received Danilo Vučić, the son of the president of Serbia. He then thanked the delegation from Serbia for the visit and emphasized that they “show selfless love and care for their people in Krajina.”

Serbia is a synonym for evil to them

As expected, Sergije also spoke out regarding the student protests in Serbia, writing back in January 2025 that the students “came out of their den to realize their dark intentions.”

“We do not see their faces, because from somewhere in their haiduk dens they manage protests in which, besides students, there is nothing student-like. Nor Serbian. Let them know that we also know which country we stand firmly behind and whose reputation, past, and honor we will guard at any cost, and specifically from them for whom Serbia is a synonym for evil and injustice. By describing Serbia that way, they actually describe themselves, their souls, and their dark intentions,” wrote Bishop Sergije, defending himself from children, from the young, from the educated and innocent, from those to whom this country belongs.

As a reminder, the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, was today in Belgrade presented with the Order of the Holy New Martyrs of Bihać-Petrovac by Bishop Sergije. As stated, the Order was awarded to President Vučić for the demonstrated charity and great love for the Diocese of Bihać-Petrovac, and especially for the great charity shown toward the Rmanj monastery.

Otherwise, this order was established in memory of Orthodox Christians who perished in the area of the Diocese of Bihać-Petrovac in the 20th century, and it is awarded to individuals, collectives, and institutions for their contribution to the Serbian Orthodox Church.

It is a diocesan decoration that, in accordance with the Constitution of the Serbian Orthodox Church, the Bishop of the Diocese of Bihać-Petrovac awards to individuals, collectives, and institutions for demonstrated virtues, loyalty, and contribution to the SOC and its believers. The order was first awarded in 2019 to Dušanka Bursać from the village of Palučak near Martin Brod “for her decades-long zeal toward the holy family of the Rmanj Monastery.”

We also remind you that despite the hymns of praise for Vučić, the president was not first on the list for the awarding of this Order. Numerous colleagues of his obviously fulfilled the conditions for the presentation of the New Martyrs decoration first, and among them are Milorad Dodik, Bratislav Gašić, Aleksandar Vulin, Patriarch Porfirije, and others.
