A not-so-often-seen competition in making the Slava cake was held on the occasion of Saint Sava Day at the “Sestre Radović” Primary School in the village of Belosavci near Topola. Although very unusual and extraordinary, this beautiful competition is a tradition in this school, and the most beautiful Slava cake is afterwards cut as the school’s Slava cake.
-Students, parents of students, school employees, and everyone who wanted to contribute to the celebration of the Slava and the preservation of beautiful customs participated in the competition. This year, a total of 17 cakes were exhibited, which delighted those present with their creativity and beauty. The winners were decided by the voting of students, parents, and employees, and because of the large number of high-quality works, the choice was not easy, Slađana Mijović, the school principal, told RINA

First place was won by seventh-grade student Zlata Bošković, second place by the Prokić family from Maskar, and third place by the cooks from the school kitchen.
Thank-you notes were presented to everyone who participated in this unique exhibition, and for the first three places, the Metalac company provided appropriate prizes.
-We owe special gratitude to the sponsor of the competition, who provided the prizes and supported the realization of this event. We thank all the competitors and participants for their effort, as well as everyone who participated in the voting and brightened the celebration of the school Slava, we congratulate the winners, said the principal.
