The Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Belgrade (VJT) has launched an investigation against Senad M. (32) and another unidentified person, suspected of having activated and thrown two hand grenades at two family houses on November 20, 2025 and February 3, 2026, as well as against Marko A., who allegedly procured the explosives for them.
The media previously reported that a hand grenade was thrown at the house of singer Zdravko Čolić on February 3.
During questioning before the acting public prosecutor, Senad M. exercised his legal right not to present a defense, while Marko A. briefly denied committing the criminal offense and refused to answer the public prosecutor’s questions.
After the questioning, the prosecution proposed to the judge for preliminary proceedings of the Higher Court in Belgrade that detention be ordered for all three suspects in order to prevent them from influencing witnesses and from repeating the criminal offense within a short period of time, and a warrant has been issued for the suspect who is being sought.
The VJT states that on November 20, 2025, Senad M. and the suspect who is being sought arrived by a rented vehicle at the family house of the injured party R.K. in the Palilula municipality and at around 2:30 a.m. activated and threw a hand grenade into the yard of his family home.
The grenade exploded, and the suspects returned to the vehicle at a running pace.
Also, on February 3, 2026, they arrived by taxi and then by scooter at the family house of the injured party Z.Č. in Savski Venac, where at around 4:52 a.m. the suspect who is being sought activated and threw a hand grenade into the yard of the house, while Senad M. kept watch to make sure no one approached and filmed with a mobile phone.
After the hand grenade exploded, the suspects fled the scene on scooters.
