A dramatic shooting occurred yesterday in the upscale “WEST 65” neighborhood of New Belgrade, when a man disguised as a food delivery worker opened fire at a luxury restaurant. The victim, Dejan V., was injured and transported by private vehicle to the Emergency Center in Belgrade.
According to initial reports, the attacker approached the restaurant on an electric scooter, dressed to resemble a food courier. He bypassed six security personnel stationed at the location and fired several shots at the victim before fleeing the scene.
Police launched Operation “Vihor” immediately after the incident. A manhunt is currently underway to locate and apprehend the gunman.
Sources from Blic revealed that the suspect has a criminal background. He was previously sentenced to one year of house arrest under electronic surveillance for a violent assault on the son of a former President of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia.
In a bizarre twist during his earlier sentence, the suspect reportedly removed his ankle monitor and placed it on his dog to avoid detection, allowing him to move freely around the city. Once discovered, he was transferred to Central Prison and faced additional charges of obstructing justice and damaging property, with his original sentence converted to regular imprisonment.
The shooting took place at approximately 4:30 PM and shocked visitors and residents in the area. Dejan V., who has now been identified as the victim, remains in medical care.

Authorities have not yet disclosed a possible motive for the attack, and the investigation is ongoing. Security footage and eyewitness statements are expected to play a key role in identifying the perpetrator.
