The Assembly of the City of Banja Luka adopted a resolution today at an emergency session regarding the verdict against the President of the Republic of Srpska Milorad Dodik, which rejects this politically motivated verdict.

The councilors unanimously adopted the resolution which includes six conclusions that reject the verdict.

One of the mentioned conclusions states that sovereignty belongs to the people of the Republic of Srpska, and that it is unacceptable for decisions about the president of Srpska to be made outside the Republic.

“We support the preservation of the institutional integrity of the Republic of Srpska, and the Assembly of the City of Banja Luka will make all its future positions and decisions based on the principle of the democratic will of the people of the Republic of Srpska,” it was stated in the conclusions within the resolution.

The emergency session of the Assembly of the City of Banja Luka was convened based on the Declaration of the Alliance of Municipalities and Cities of the Republic of Srpska, which was adopted at the beginning of August and which rejects the verdict against the president of Srpska Milorad Dodik.

The Appellate Department of the Court of BiH previously rejected the appeal of Dodik’s legal team against the decision of the CIK of BiH to take away Dodik’s mandate due to non-compliance with the decisions of Christian Schmidt.
