A new police response and repression against citizens has occurred in Užice. As Nova.rs learns, lawyer and councilor Radovan Novaković and Dejan Ćosić are currently at the Užice police station. They were among the citizens who broke through a blockade last night and stood at the forefront of the assembled citizens. Radovan Novaković has been ordered into detention. The arrested individuals are charged with assaulting an official.
Detainees Identified
According to Nova.rs, lawyer and councilor Radovan Novaković and Dejan Ćosić are at the Užice police station; they were among the citizens who broke through the blockade last night and stood at the head of the assembled citizens. Radovan Novaković has been ordered into detention.
Police also apprehended Pavle Cicvarić. He recently wrote on his Instagram account that he had been called in for an informational interview and that police were waiting for him outside his apartment.
Professor Also Arrested
Police arrived at a school to apprehend Professor Branko Nikolić, another Užice citizen who was in the front row when the blockade was breached in Užice.
Currently, it is known that the police station also holds lawyer and councilor Radovan Novaković, Dejan Ćosić, councilor Vladan Sinđić, and student Pavle Cicvarić. All are charged with assaulting an official. All those detained in Užice have been ordered into detention for up to 48 hours.
